What Does LTN Mean in Mogging? LTN, MTN and HTN Explained

LTN, MTN and HTN come from the looks-rating forums, and they rate ordinary people the way those forums rate everything: on a scale. LTN is low-tier normie, MTN is mid-tier normie, HTN is high-tier normie. Above HTN the forums put chadlite and chad; below LTN they put words this site will not repeat. When someone says an LTN mog, they mean a comparison that lands even against a person rated at the bottom of normal. It is the least healthy end of the mogging vocabulary and it is worth understanding for one reason: so you can recognize it when it shows up in a group chat.

Quick answer: LTN means low-tier normie, MTN mid-tier normie, and HTN high-tier normie: a forum scale that rates ordinary-looking people. An LTN mog is outclassing someone already rated low. The scale is not official and the communities that use it are the unhealthiest corner of the slang.

The three tiers, as the forums use them

Normie is the forums' word for an ordinary person, neither model-tier nor the opposite, and the scale splits ordinary into three. LTN, low-tier normie: below average by the forum's own standards. MTN, mid-tier normie: the middle, most people. HTN, high-tier normie: above average, attractive but not model-tier. The ratings are usually handed out on a ten-point scale in the same threads, with the tiers mapping roughly to the 4s, 5s and 6s. Nobody agrees on the boundaries, which is the first tell about how much the system is worth.

Why the scale is rigged

It rates strangers against strangers, from photographs, by people who have made rating strangers a hobby. There is no top: an HTN is mogged by a chadlite who is mogged by a chad who is mogged by a photo of a model that has been edited. Anyone running that comparison full time loses regardless of where they land, and the communities that invented the tiers are the ones the looksmaxxing post is about. If the abbreviations appear in a teenager's vocabulary, that is the part to notice: not the word, the forum it came from.

The tier system that actually works

There is a version of tiers that helps, and it has nobody else in it. Twelve levels, thirty days each, one stat per level, sleep, body, face, fits, frame, rizz, mind, money, skills, discipline, aura, and a boss fight at the end, with a mog check each month that compares your numbers against last month's numbers. On that scale the only person you can be low-tier against is the version of you from thirty days ago, and that is a fight you can win. For parents

LTN and HTN are not dangerous words on their own; they are a sign a kid has been reading the forums where the words live, and those forums sell a scale nobody can climb. The move is not to ban the vocabulary but to hand him a different scale.
