What Is Auramogging? Outclassing Someone on Presence, Not Looks

Part of the series Teen Slang for Parents: Rizz, Aura, Mogging, Looksmaxxing and What They Mean

Auramogging, or aura mogging, means outclassing someone on presence rather than on looks. A height mog is measured with a tape. An aura mog is measured by what happens when two people enter a room: the one the attention moves toward has aura mogged the other, regardless of who is taller or better dressed. It is the newest of the mog categories, built by gluing together two of the biggest slang words of the last few years, and it is the one worth paying attention to, because aura, unlike height, is almost entirely built.

Quick answer: Auramogging means outclassing someone on presence: the person the room's attention moves toward has aura mogged the other. Unlike a height or face mog, aura is built from how someone carries themselves, speaks and keeps their word, which makes it the one mog that responds to work.

What aura means here

In the slang, aura is the impression a person gives off when nobody is performing: composure, how they carry themselves, whether they seem to need the room's approval or not. Losing aura is the phrase for a moment that punctures it, the trip on the stairs, the joke that dies, the reply that was too eager. Aura points are the joke scoring system. An aura mog is one person's presence making another's look small by comparison, and it can happen with the shorter, plainer person doing the mogging, which is what makes it interesting.

How it differs from the other mogs

Face, height and frame are what someone is. Aura is what someone does, over time, until it reads as what they are. It is the only mog category that a person can lose by talking too much and win by saying less, which is why aura versus rizz separates the two: rizz is what you do in the conversation, aura is what is left when the conversation ends. Aura mogging is the comparison of two track records, and track records are earned.

The part that is trainable

Nearly all of it. The book behind this post has a whole level for aura, thirty days, and the reps are unglamorous: sleep, because a tired face has no presence; keeping your word, because reliability reads as composure; saying less; eye contact; the phone down. None of it is charisma training. It is the accumulation of small kept standards until the room notices. What aura means has the full breakdown; aura farming covers the performative version, which is the opposite of this.

The rest of the vocabulary

The mog glossary has every category; height mogging is the least trainable end of the scale, this is the most; teen slang for parents explains which of these words are harmless, and aura is one of them.

365 days of mogging the only person who matters: yesterday's you. Sleep is the meta, the kitchen mogs the gym, one page a day in his language.

What does auramogging mean?

Outclassing someone on presence rather than looks. When two people enter a room and the attention moves to one of them, that person has aura mogged the other. It is the mog category built on behavior rather than genes.

Is aura trainable?

Mostly, yes. Sleep, keeping your word, saying less, posture, eye contact and putting the phone down are the reps, repeated until the room notices. It is a track record, not a trick.
